Welcome to the Shree Sukhpur Seva Mandal Website. Shree Sukhpur Seva Mandal (U.K.) is a non-profit making organisation that represents the Kutchi Leva Patel community with roots to Sukhpur (Bhuj) Gham.
Generally it has been believed that there are not any ancient civilisation in area around City area and BHUJ vicinity, But villages close to BHUJ city are full of ancient civilisation.
Zadko Zadki river is the tributary to the most ancient - river of the Kutch "Khari River" which flowed the whole year in the past and even today it has a secrete underground flow into the river basin.
The place north of the lake Mochirai (Ancient reservoir) is a big TIMBO which has been converted into farm land. The place cannot be traced very easily now. North-West of this Timbo is the place of ZADO-ZADKI rivers about 1 KM area. Farmers in this area removed the lower layer sand and they accidentially uncovered an ancient KABAR. This was the location of an old civilisation area called Bajariyun village.
After further inspection of the area further ancient potteries, toys and bones were found. Some of these potteries were coated with Chinai which is a method found in Indus civilisations.
On removal of more soil further Kabars were found in that area. In the southern part of the area towards Mochirai lake another farmer removed about 4' of the sand layer and uncovered a hard area covered with stones. The farmer used heavy machinery to remove the stones and uncovered a Kabar. Inside the Kabar were human skeletons that were aged back to over four thousand years ago.
Also another interesting find in this area was the discovery of ancient buildings built using bricks around 2000BC. This is extremely unusual as house in the area are now built with stone as this is plentiful in the surrounding hill rocks.
